Route Z (Alternate) — Pokémon Rejuvenation Route Guide
Route Z (Alternate) is the late-game Florian route linking Amethyst Cave back to East Gearen City — and the only place in Aevium where the Bulbasaur line turns up as a wild encounter rather than a gift.

How to get there
Where this area leads:
| Direction | Leads to |
|---|---|
| East | Amethyst Cave |
| West | East Gearen City / Neo East Gearen City |
Surf is needed somewhere in this area, not necessarily to enter it — the tables below say where.
What is here
This is the alternate Route Z, and it is unusual among the region's routes for being worth a trip purely on the strength of its encounter table. Wild Bulbasaur, Ivysaur and Venusaur all appear in the grass, which is the only reliable way to catch the line in the wild, and Galarian Weezing and Duraludon are on the same table. Surfing and fishing add a second table, and that one includes a respawning Aevian Feebas.
Levels run from 55 to 76, so this is a late-game area and one of the better places to train a finished team. It needs Surf and nothing else. It also carries Swamp Field and Water Surface field effects, which change how several moves behave — worth knowing before settling in for a long grind.
| Landmark | What it is for |
|---|---|
| West exit | Leads to East Gearen City and Neo East Gearen City. |
| North-east exit | Leads to Amethyst Cave. |
| The fishing spots | Where the water half of the encounter table lives, including Aevian Feebas — the reason most people come. |
| Swamp Field / Water Surface | The route's field effects. The terrain you fight on changes move behaviour. |
Before you go
- Bring Surf. It is the route's only recorded field move, and the entire water half of the encounter table sits behind it.
- Fish with the Good Rod or Super Rod for Aevian Feebas — it is 40% on both. It does not appear on the Old Rod table at all.
- Do not go looking for headbutt or rock smash encounters here, whatever the game's encounter script says. The wiki records that the trees and rocks needed for them are missing from the map.
- Levels reach 76 on the fishing table, so this is a genuine late-game training spot rather than a route you pass through.
- There are no items on this route. The draw is the encounter table, so do not spend time hunting for pickups.
What is worth catching here
Fourteen species on land and nine across surf and fishing. These are the ones that are hard to get anywhere else.

Route Z (Alternate) FAQ
Can I catch Bulbasaur in the wild in Pokémon Rejuvenation?
Yes, on Route Z (Alternate). Bulbasaur, Ivysaur and Venusaur all appear in the grass here at levels 55–70, which makes this the route to visit if you want the line without a gift or a trade.
What do I need for Route Z?
Surf, and nothing else. It is the only field move the wiki records for the route, and it gates the whole water encounter table.
Where is Route Z (Alternate)?
On Floria Island. It connects to Amethyst Cave to the north-east, and to East Gearen City and Neo East Gearen City to the west.
Why are there no headbutt encounters on Route Z?
The game's encounter script lists headbutt and rock smash encounters for this route, but the wiki records that the trees and rocks required for them are missing from the map. Treat the land and water tables as the real ones.
How do I get Aevian Feebas?
Fish on Route Z with the Good Rod or the Super Rod — it is a 40% encounter on both. It does not appear on the Old Rod table.
