What this area is
A large, lava filled mountain located near Sheridan Village. Black pipes with Yellow Stripes can be seen running throughout it, and Lava can be found throughout. It was formerly damp and calm, and filled with water, only being recently changed by Madelis and her Generator. Red mechanical tentacles with eyes can also be found throughout, as a part of the security system.

The mountain was formerly damp and calm and filled with water, and was recently changed by Madelis and her Generator: black pipes with yellow stripes now run throughout it, and red mechanical tentacles with eyes form a security system. That is the state you find it in.
Three field moves are needed — Rock Smash, Strength and Magma Drift — and the Magma Drift is not optional, because the lava is the floor in places. It is the earliest location on the site where Magma Drift is required.
The V.G.C.R. is the section that matters. It is the storage space for the toxic waste the generator produces, the generator itself, and Madelis's private lab, and it holds the two items that need the V.G.C.R. Key: Ancient Teachings, in a capsule at the top right of the maze room, and the Houndoominite, in a capsule at the end of that maze.

Before you go
- The V.G.C.R. Key is what unlocks the maze room, and the two best items here — Ancient Teachings and the Houndoominite — are capsules inside it. Both are behind the key, not merely hidden.
- Magma Drift is required to get around. If you are short of it, the mountain is not a partial visit but a blocked one.
- There are two TM Fire pickups: one on the 1F Entrance's left side after the second rock walkway, and one in the V.G.C.R. behind barrels in the first room past the entryway.
- Carotos Pinnacle is visible and not reachable. Do not spend time looking for a way up.
