Amethyst Cave — Pokémon Rejuvenation Cave Guide
Amethyst Cave is the cave between Route 2 and Sheridan Village on Floria Island — a small-looking area that opens into a dozen sub-areas once you find the stairs in its south-western corner.

What this area is
Amethyst Cave is a small area connecting Route 2 to Sheridan Village. Though initially seemingly straightforward, the stairs in the southwestern corner lead to additional sub-areas. There are multiple Mining Rocks here the player can excavate.
What is here
The cave presents as a straightforward passage connecting Route 2 to Sheridan Village. It is not. The stairs in the south-western corner lead down into additional sub-areas, and those are where the page's 65 recorded pickups actually live: the Amethyst Depths, the Amethyst Mines, the Amethyst Grotto, the Altered Dimension, the Cliffside Grave, the Garufan Chamber, Rift Lethal Forest and Rift Nirvana.
Mining is the other half of it. The wiki notes multiple Mining Rocks here, and they are excavatable — which makes the cave a resource stop rather than just a corridor, and the reason the item list includes so many Mineral Balls and Shards.
Four field moves are needed — Rock Smash, Surf, Strength and Rock Climb — and the Rock Smash is load-bearing: several of the route-2 entrance items sit in walls behind smashable rocks, including a Red Shard and a Zinc on the track line above the bridge.
Two Zygarde Cells and a TM Normal are in the Stream Area, and the TM is in a small room reached down the middle of the stream rather than off either bridge.
The encounters are early-game and shallow — Woobat at 42% and Geodude at 29% at levels 12 to 15 — which is why the cave is easy to dismiss before you have found the sub-areas.
| Landmark | What it is for |
|---|---|
| The south-western stairs | The single most important thing here. They take you from the corridor into the sub-areas, which is where nearly all of the content is. |
| Amethyst Depths, Mines and Grotto | Three of the named sub-areas. |
| Garufan Chamber | A named sub-area with its own significance to the story. |
| Cliffside Grave | A named sub-area off the main cave. |
| Altered Dimension | Reached from the cave, and listed twice in the wiki's places of interest — once as a typo. |
| Rift Lethal Forest and Rift Nirvana | Two rift-adjacent areas reached from the cave. |
| Stream Area | Holds two Zygarde Cells, a TM Normal in the room down the middle of the stream, and several shards behind the bridges. |
| Mining Rock | Multiple, excavatable, and the reason the cave's item list is dominated by Mineral Balls and Shards. |
Before you go
- Find the stairs in the south-western corner before concluding the cave is small. Everything named in the locations list is below them.
- Bring Rock Smash or the Golden Hammer. Several Route 2 entrance items are inside walls behind smashable rocks, not on the floor.
- TM Normal is in the small room down the middle of the stream, not off either bridge. If you have swept left and right and found nothing, you have missed the centre.
- The two Zygarde Cells in the Stream Area are by the panel on the middle side of the streams, and both need Surf or the Golden Surfboard.
- The cave's own encounters are levels 12-15. If you are passing through late, the Mining Rocks and the sub-areas are the reason to come back, not the wild Pokemon.
