Phasial Cave — Pokémon Rejuvenation Cave Guide
Phasial Cave is the cave on Route 3 on Floria Island, and it is the game's clearest demonstration of field effects: the same room becomes a different battlefield depending on which move you use in it.

What this area is
Flash is recommended for better exploration.
What is here
The Phasial Crystal Cavern changes state on demand. Using Dark Pulse, Dark Void, Light that Burns the Sky or Night Daze turns the area into the Dark Crystal Cavern. Turning it back into the ordinary Cave Field takes Earthquake, Bulldoze, Magnitude or Tectonic Rage — though the wiki records that reversal as unavailable in the version it was written against, so treat the round trip as version-dependent.
That makes the cave worth visiting for reasons beyond its item list. It is one of the few places where you can choose your own battle environment, and both states are named locations on this site.
Four field moves are needed: Rock Smash, Surf, Rock Climb and Flash. The Flash is for the dark sections rather than a puzzle.
The encounters are Water and Steel at levels 23 to 27 — Wooper at 32%, Chewtle at 25% and a Steel-type Meowth at 20%. The level band puts the cave squarely in the middle of the Floria story.
There are 21 recorded pickups, and mining is a real part of it: Mining Rocks appear more than once here, and the Ability Capsule sits directly left of one on B1F. Most of the rest are hidden in rocks, tall rocks and ponds.
| Landmark | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Phasial Crystal Cavern | The cave's default state. Becomes the Dark Crystal Cavern when Dark Pulse, Dark Void, Light that Burns the Sky or Night Daze is used in it. |
| Phasial Dark Crystal Cavern | The transformed state. Reverted with Earthquake, Bulldoze, Magnitude or Tectonic Rage. |
| Mining Rock | On B1F, with the Ability Capsule immediately to its left. |
| Moon Field | Reached from the cave. |
| Southern Entrance and the upper entrance ladder | The two reference points the item directions are written from. |
| The Girl Trainer and the Hiker Trainer | The two B1F NPCs the hidden-item directions use as landmarks. |
Before you go
- You can choose the cave's field on demand. Dark Pulse, Dark Void, Light that Burns the Sky or Night Daze give the Dark Crystal Cavern; Earthquake, Bulldoze, Magnitude or Tectonic Rage turn it back.
- The reversal is version-dependent. The wiki records it as unavailable in the version it was written against, so check before planning a fight around the base Cave Field.
- Mining Rock is here, and the Ability Capsule is directly left of the B1F one. Bring something that can break rocks.
- Flash is required for the dark stretches. Four field moves in total: Rock Smash, Surf, Rock Climb and Flash.
