Mirage Town — Pokémon Rejuvenation Forest Guide
Mirage Town is the small settlement in the middle of the Mirage Woods on Floria Island, split in two by a waterfall and a river — and hiding one of the game's more unusual catches.

What this area is
Mirage town is a small town located in the center of the Mirage Woods. A waterfall and river divide the town in two, with the eastern side providing hidden access to the mirage cave, and the western side features a large broken bell which is said to have once brought clarity to lost spirits and pokemon.
What is here
The river is the layout. Mirage Town sits in the centre of the Mirage Woods with a waterfall and river dividing it in two: the eastern half holds the hidden access to Mirage Cave, and the western half has a large broken bell, said to have once brought clarity to lost spirits and Pokemon.
The Zubat in Mirage Cave is not a normal encounter. Inside the cave there is a dark void, and using Flash on it starts a battle; when that battle ends a Zubat joins your team outright, already knowing Brave Bird — a move Zubat has no business having.
Getting into the cave needs Cut, or the Golden Axe. The town's other three field moves are Surf and Flash, so an early visit with only one of them will leave things unreachable.
The one trainer here is a PokeGang trainer with a Crobat, and the two modes are genuinely different fights. In Story it is four Zubat at 30 with a Crobat at 40; in Classic the party becomes Zubat 33, Woobat 33, Noibat 33, Zubat 33 and a Crobat at 48.
There are only four recorded pickups and three of them are inside buildings: the Itemfinder in the bottom house, a Steam Ball in the top-left house, and TM66 Payback by the entrance alongside a Zygarde Cell.
| Landmark | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Mirage Cave | Reached from the eastern half of the town, and gated behind Cut or the Golden Axe. The dark void inside is where the Zubat is. |
| The broken bell | On the western side of the river. A landmark rather than a mechanic, but the only thing on that bank. |
| Bottom house | Holds the Itemfinder — worth collecting early, since most of this region's items are hidden. |
| Top-left house | Holds a Steam Ball. |
| Mirage Woods | South. The woods the town sits inside, and the route onward. |
Before you go
- Use Flash on the dark void inside Mirage Cave. Doing so starts a fight, and the Zubat that joins you afterwards already knows Brave Bird.
- Cut, or the Golden Axe, is what opens Mirage Cave. Surf and Flash are needed for the rest of the town.
- Pick up the Itemfinder in the bottom house before sweeping the area — a large share of the items in the surrounding woods are hidden.
- The Crobat trainer's Classic team is meaningfully harder than the Story one: the ace goes from level 40 to 48 and the party gains a Noibat.
