Helojak Island — Pokémon Rejuvenation Island Guide
Helojak Island is the small, swampy island off Terajuma's north-west coast — quiet, obscure, and home to a Rift Den that produces one of the game's odder Shadow Pokemon.

What this area is
The island is usually a calm, marshy island that has recently become much more violent. Its quite small, and is home to very little of interest, resulting in its relative obscurity to most people of Aevium. A large factory is located on the far side of the island when approaching from the docks, and wild East Sea Gastrodon and Wooper can be seen roaming about the island freely. Whirlpools can be seen surrounding the island, and Absorb Bulbs grow all over. Numerous smaller islands are seen surrounding the main one, and a Noctowl statue can be found right outside of the factory.
What is here
The island is reached by boat from the Terajuma Shipyard and needs Strength and Rock Climb. It is a calm, marshy place that has recently become violent, with whirlpools in the water and a large factory on the far side as you approach from the docks.
The Rift Den is the reason to come, and it is the most gated thing here: it needs Strength and Fly, then 15,000 Red Essence and a Rift Matter thrown in. What comes out is a level 15-25 Shadow Beldum, and once purified its moveset is unusual — the exclusive moves Life Dew and Zap Cannon alongside Iron Head and Gravity as tutor moves.
Three Pokemon here are conditional rather than wild. The four roaming Gastrodon all carry Earth Power as a tutor move. Three Mudkip appear on a small island once you have Rock Climb, and they know the Egg move Curse. And after the Team Xen events are finished, an Elekid appears on top of the building; give it a Gourmet Treat and it will battle you, knowing the Egg move Cross Chop.
It also has one of the few infinite item sources on the site: Absorb Bulbs are scattered all over the island, with no cap recorded.
Sixteen recorded pickups, most of them hidden, including two Zygarde-priced shards, a Rare Candy on the rock pile of the small bottom-right island, and — conditionally — a Xen Waste from the Rift Den after the Beldum is captured.
The wiki records the island's origin too: it was added in v13.5 as a replacement for an area called Sheridan Wetlands. If you find a guide describing that area, it is describing something that no longer exists.
| Landmark | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Rift Den | An old, decrepit Rift Den, possibly a prototype of the ones on Route 4. Needs Strength and Fly, 15,000 Red Essence and a Rift Matter. Yields a level 15-25 Shadow Beldum. |
| Helojak Factory | The large factory on the far side from the docks, connected to the storms and whirlpools around the island. TM Ground is far right of its entrance, and the Elekid is on top of the building. |
| The small island with Mudkip | Reached with Rock Climb. Three Mudkip, all knowing Curse. |
| The four Gastrodon | Roaming the island freely, all with Earth Power as a tutor move. |
| The leftmost small island | Holds a Silver Powder, with the TinyMushroom two tiles right and two down of it. |
| The whirlpools | Shoal Shell is three tiles north of the three whirlpools near the leftmost small island. |
Before you go
- The Rift Den needs four things, not one: Strength, Fly, 15,000 Red Essence and a Rift Matter. Do not make the boat trip until you have all four.
- Purified, the Beldum from the Rift Den carries Life Dew and Zap Cannon — moves Metagross does not normally get — plus Iron Head and Gravity as tutor moves. It is worth the setup.
- Give the Elekid on the building roof a Gourmet Treat. It fights you for it, and it knows Cross Chop.
- Absorb Bulbs are infinite here. If you use them, this is a place to stock up rather than a one-off pickup.
