What is here
The city sits between Zorrialyn Desert to the south and Zone Zero to the north, and it needs Rock Smash and Strength to get around — Golden Hammer and Golden Claws substitute for both.
The item list is what defines the place. Of 28 recorded pickups, 23 are hidden, and almost all of those are Red or Yellow Shards. The handful that are not shards are the ones worth the trip: a Red Flute, a Power Bracer, two Poke Toys, a Prism Scale, and a Life Orb that only appears under conditions.
The encounters are late-game and Ground-heavy: Golurk and Claydol at 25% each, Dusclops at 17%, Sigilyph at 16%, Cufant at 10% and Copperajah at 7%, all between levels 68 and 73. There is also a Sylveon gift at level 65 and a Falinks interaction.
The Life Orb is the one genuinely missable thing here. It sits in the upper-left room, but only after finishing the Hidden Library help quest continuation at Castle Zygara — and only if you let Karen live.

Before you go
- Bring the Itemfinder and expect to sweep. 23 of the 28 recorded pickups are hidden, and the directions are written against rocks, tanks and pools rather than map positions.
- Decide about Karen before you reach Castle Zygara. Letting her live is a prerequisite for the Life Orb, and the Hidden Library help quest continuation is what triggers it.
- Rock Smash and Strength are both required, so bring a team that can use them or their Golden equivalents.
- The cave encounters all sit between 68 and 73. Come with a team at that level rather than treating it as a mid-game stop.
