Field of Pillars — Pokémon Rejuvenation Location Guide

The Field of Pillars is the empty stretch of standing stones in the Badlands where the Obelisk appears. It holds no items and no wild Pokémon, and it only matters twice in the story.

Reached by heading north out of the Zorrialyn Coast desert. Nothing blocks the way in, but there is no reason to come here before Chapter 13.

What this area is

For most of the game the Field of Pillars is exactly what a walkthrough will tell you it is: a wide, flat field of pillars with nothing in it. The wiki records no item pickups and no wild encounters here, so there is no reason to detour into it during a normal playthrough. A V14 walkthrough puts it plainly — at that point it is "just an empty place" that will be "way more important later".

That moment arrives in Chapter 13. A massive Obelisk appears in the Field of Pillars and the story sends the group to investigate it. Nothing can be done about it yet; the Obelisk simply stands there while the chapter moves on to the Grand Dream City tournament and the Bladestar takeover.

The Obelisk and Zeight (Chapter 15)

You come back in Chapter 15, after Aelita returns from the Eclysia Pyramid with word about the Obelisk, the Interceptor and what the two have to do with each other. This time the protagonist can go inside.

The interior is what the game calls Zeight: a vast mechanical space whose layout is shaped by the protagonist's own mind. A guide who calls herself Nymiera greets the group. Deeper in, the cube the protagonist was given earlier reacts with a terminal and uploads their mother's data — and that data replaces the guide, so the version of Nancy who takes over explains that she was created by Crescent to accompany the protagonist.

At the core the group finds Adrest, apparently asleep, and learns that three keys are needed to wake him. Those three components are what the chapter splits into three parties to retrieve, which is the structure of the rest of Chapter 15.

What is actually missable here

In the item sense, nothing. Because the Field of Pillars has no pickups, there is no window you can close by walking past it. The only thing worth tracking is the order of the two visits: the Chapter 13 trip is scripted and short, and the Chapter 15 trip is the one that opens the Obelisk and Zeight for good.

Field of Pillars FAQ

Where is the Field of Pillars in Pokémon Rejuvenation?

It sits in the Badlands at the northern edge of the Zorrialyn Coast desert. You reach it by heading north from Zorrialyn Coast, and the way into Zeight is at its northern end.

Is there anything to collect in the Field of Pillars?

No. Neither the wiki nor the game records any item pickups or wild Pokémon encounters here. The item tied to this area, the Interceptor's Wish, is inside Zeight and comes from the Chapter 15 story rather than from a pickup.

When does the Obelisk in the Field of Pillars open?

An Obelisk appears in Chapter 13 and the story sends you to investigate, but nothing can be done with it at that point. It only becomes enterable in Chapter 15, after Aelita returns from the Eclysia Pyramid.

What is inside the Obelisk in the Field of Pillars?

Zeight — a mechanical area shaped by the protagonist's mind, where the group meets a guide calling herself Nymiera and eventually finds Adrest at the core.

Do I need any field moves to explore the Field of Pillars?

None are recorded for the area itself. Getting there means crossing the Zorrialyn Coast desert, so bring whatever you already use to move around the Badlands.
