What this area is

Oblitus town is a small and mostly abandoned town at the south point of Terrial Island. It is mostly filled with abandoned houses, as well as a Pokecenter and Gym, also abandoned. A worn path filled with boulders and dead trees leads north, to the train tracks and the sole functional house. The towns current state came about after Grand Dream City was founded and its leader left his post. The only permanent residents are Kelvin and his Wife. After Alice and Allen take over as Gym leaders, the town is partially restored. The formerly abandoned buildings are patched up, and two more houses are built. The long grass is replaced with a fixed path, and a small pond is put in.

What is here

Oblitus is a ghost town by design. When Grand Dream City was founded, the leader here left his post and the town emptied out. What is left is a row of abandoned houses, a disused Pokécenter and Gym, and a worn path north through boulders and dead trees that leads to the train tracks and the only house still occupied.

The town has a second state. Once Alice and Allen take over as Gym Leaders the place is partially restored — the abandoned buildings are patched up, two more houses go up, the long grass is replaced with a fixed path and a small pond is dug. If you visited early and found nothing but boarded windows, that is why, and it is worth walking back through later.

LandmarkWhat it is for
Kelvin's HouseHome of the local bridge builder and his wife — the town's only permanent residents. He keeps a Pokéflute inside for when the local Snorlax causes problems.
The abandoned GymStill standing, still unused when you first arrive. It comes back into the story rather than being a place you can challenge on a first visit.
The abandoned PokécenterNon-functional in the town's early state. Do not route through Oblitus expecting to heal here.
The path northBoulders and dead trees lead up to the train tracks — the way out of town, and the way to the restored district later.
